Skiing: Tina Maze Downhill World Champion!

Slovenia’s star skier Tina Maze bagged gold in the downhill race at the World Alpine Ski Championships in Vail on Friday. This is her second medal at the worlds, following silver in the super-G event on Tuesday.

Maze beat Anna Fenninger of Austria in second by 0.02 seconds only three days after Fenninger beat her to super-G gold by 0.03. The race is still ongoing, however, all of the favourites have already finished it.

The current ranking list shows Lara Gut of Switzerland in third place (+0.34s), Nicole Schmidhofer of Austria in fourth (1.03s), while the native Lindsey Vonn is fifth (1.05s).

Slovenia’s Ilka Štuhec is currently in place 20, lagging 2.17s behind Maze.
