Ski Jumper Prevc Wins Two Consecutive Events in Vikersund

Slovenia’s Peter Prevc followed up his Saturday’s win at the ski flying hill in Norway’s Vikersund with another World Cup win at the same venue on Sunday to earn his eleventh win in the current season and 17th career win.

With jumps of 237 and 249 metres, the 23-year-old scored 469 points to further solidify his overall lead in the World Cup. Prevc was followed by Stefan Kraft of Austria (461.6 points) and Andreas Stjernen of Norway (459.7 points). The other Slovenian finalist, Jurij Tepeš, was 14th (407 points). Prevc is in firm lead in the overall World Cup standings after 19 events out of the scheduled 30 events, with the second-placed Severin Freund of Germany trailing him by 572 points. The Slovenian is close to tying the record for most wins in a single season (13), set by Austria’s Gregor Schlierenzauer in the 2008/09 season.
