Stan Prosenak from Melbourne and Alfred Brežnik AM from Sydney were both actively involved in the movement for Slovenian independence and international recognition in Australia during those historic times going back 25 years. They both believe that Australian Slovenians should be extremely proud for everything they did to support Slovenia’s battle for independence and international recognition. Australia was one of the first countries outside of Europe to recognise Slovenia’s independence in January 1992. Mr Brežnik was also the Consul General of the Republic of Slovenia in Sydney for 22 years.
