The American Slovenian Education Foundation (ASEF) fellowship program provides fellows with comprehensive support, allowing them to focus on their research at world’s top universities. Fellowships build lasting relationships between ASEF and academic institutions. The purpose of the fellowship is to strengthen research and study exchange between Slovenia and the U.S. with the objective of giving talented Slovenian students the ability to realize their potential to the fullest.
About the ASEF fellowship
The ASEF fellowship provides a 10 week summer research visit to a university or a research institution in the area of applicant’s field of study/expertise. The applicant will work with Slovenian professors at world’s top universities on a research project and interact with other members of the professor’s research group as well as other students at the university. At the same time the student will also interact with the American Slovenian community.
Eligibility
Applications are open to full-time students in good standing at an accredited institution of higher education. Applications are open to Slovenian as well as American students of Slovenian heritage. A typical applicant is a senior undergraduate, masters, or a PhD student.
Costs
ASEF will work with the applicant to obtain funding so that all expenses (airfare, food, lodging, etc.) will be covered.

Information session about the ASEF fellowship program will be held at 16:30 on December 22nd in dvorana Ivana Hribarja at the University of Ljubljana, Kongresni Trg 12, which will be part of the symposium of Slovenian researchers that are working abroad (http://www.drustvovtis.si).
The deadline for submitting all the documents is February 15, 2018.
